As the clock ticks away the seconds towards an entire new year ripe with new experiences and expectations, I take the time to reflect on this past year which was truly incredible. Twenty Eleven was the best year I have had since Twenty ‘O Five. I have made so many memories with so many people. I would not have it any other way. So, here is one last farewell post for 2011 with many hopes and wishes that 2012 will be an even greater year.
2011 Best (and Worse?) Moments
Places Traveled: Orlando, Florida for Disney + Wizarding World of Harry Potter | Raleigh, North Carolina from Animazement | Los Angeles, California for E3 | New York City, New York for family vacay | Seattle, Washington for PAX Prime | Atlanta, Georgia for Dragon*Con
Favorite Memory: Becoming a FRAG DOLL CADETTE! This happened in January 2011 and it was by far the best thing that happened to me. It opened the door for many of my trips this year and also meeting a host of new people. It rejuvenated my absolute love for gaming. Without my Dolls and the other Cadettes, I would probably not be as happy and optimistic of a person as I am today.
But one memory just won’t do…
- Hanging out with all my friends at Dragon*Con
- Finally getting to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
- Seeing Breaking Dawn Part 1 with my friends
- driving to NYC with my family
- my nephew’s first birthday
- starting a new career
- networking within the gaming industry
- meeting lots of people and forming new friendships!
Lots of memories were made this year! ❤
Favorite Movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 – it was not just a movie to me. It was the end of an era. It was such an incredible, defining moment in my life to see the last part of the last book of my all time favorite series on the big screen.
- “Headlines” by Drake
- “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO
- “Super Bass” by Nicki Minaj
- “Countdown” by Beyonce
- “Give me Everything” by Pitbull + Ne Yo
Favorite Book: A Game of Thrones By George R.R. Martin
Favorite Comic(s): Morning Glories | Noble Causes | Batman and Robin
Favorite Album: Beyonce’s “4”
Favorite Video Game: Catherine (probably because I haven’t popped Arkham City in yet ^___^)
Would it be entirely cheesy to say that there weren’t any worse moments? I had to dig into the deep recesses of my brain to pick these out of it:
“Worse” Memory was losing friends. I, however, do not look at this as a bad thing. I look at it as incredibly good to be able to discern which friends were worth keeping and making new friends.
Stay tuned tomorrow for my goals for 2012! I do not call them resolutions because that word just does not fit my optimistic thinking of life.
